Pride & Prejudice: BBC series filming locations - Step Into the Original Pemberley - £149

Long before Keira Knightley, there was Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth - and the real Derbyshire locations that brought the BBC's beloved 1995 adaptation to life.

This small-group day trip takes you to the exact filming locations from the original, award-winning miniseries: the grand exteriors and hushed interiors of Pemberley, the windswept rocks where Elizabeth found the "untamed beauty" of the Peaks, and the quiet village that played Lambton.

Lyme Park and the lake next to the house

Lyme Park Gardens

This is where it began - Lyme Park's grand Palladian front and sweeping deer park served as the exterior of Pemberley itself, including the now-legendary scene of Mr Darcy's unplanned dip in the lake. Entry is included in your tour price.

Sudbury Hall Exterior.jpeg

Sudbury Hall

While Lyme Park played Pemberley's exterior, its interior scenes - including the grand gallery Elizabeth wanders through - were filmed here at Sudbury Hall. Entry is not included in the tour price; tickets can be purchased on the day.

Buxton Derbyshire.jpeg

Buxton

We break for lunch in Buxton, one of England's great Regency spa towns. While Buxton has no direct Pride and Prejudice connection, its elegant Georgian architecture and crescent make it a fitting, atmospheric stop for a Regency-era day out.

Longnor

This quiet village played Lambton, the market town where Elizabeth stays with the Gardiners during her Derbyshire trip, and where Mr Darcy visits her more than once. The real exterior used for the Lambton Inn still stands on Chapel Street today.

Ramshaw Rocks image.jpeg

Ramshaw Rocks

A dramatic gritstone outcrop on the Staffordshire-Derbyshire border, Ramshaw Rocks is where Elizabeth and her aunt and uncle, the Gardiners, pause on their Derbyshire tour to take in what the series calls "the untamed beauty of the peaks" - one of the series' most striking landscape shots.
